Slocan Council (2022-2026)

Village of Slocan Council is comprised of one Mayor and four Councillors, each elected for a four-year term.
Council meets on the second Monday of each month at 7pm (unless otherwise posted) at the Village Office, Council Chambers

All items or reports for the agenda of a meeting of Council must be delivered to the CAO prior to 12:00 noon on the Monday, seven (7) days in advance of the scheduled meeting. Any item not delivered complete, signed and in an agenda-ready format by that deadline shall be held to the next meeting of Council , unless approved as a late item by the CAO and Mayor.

DELEGATION TO COUNCIL

Any person or organization wishing to be placed on an Agenda to address Council may apply by completing a Delegation to Council Form and submitting it to the CAO one week prior to the next scheduled meeting. 
Council may deem the delegation topic more appropriate for a future Council Meeting/Public Hearing if one is scheduled addressing the same topic. The Chief Administrative Officer may schedule delegates to another Council meeting or advisory body or another committee meeting, as deemed appropriate to the subject matter of the delegation.
The Chief Administrative Officer may refuse to place a delegation on the Agenda if the issue is considered to not fall within the jurisdiction of Council, if the matter has already been considered by Council, or if the matter is not on the Agenda.
A delegation is limited to 10 minutes, unless there is a unanimous vote by all Council members present.

(1) Following Archie York’s resignation, Alfred C. Smith was acting mayor from July 27, 1903 – January 18, 1904.
(2) According to Innes Cooper, J.A Armstrong was acting mayor December 18, 1905 – January 17, 1906.
(3) From September 4, 1906 – May 1907, the city was seized for debt and was in possession of Sheriff Samuel Park      Tuck.
(4) Mary Hird and Denis St. Denis both suggest William Clough was also mayor. St. Denis omits Ed Clough, but Hird includes him. Neither mentions Capt. Kirby or J.A. Anderson.
